Hi, I'm Audry, and I am the owner of Castaways.
I absolutely love what I do. I once a owned thrift store. During that time, a friend of mine referred me to host an estate sale for a friend of his. I did. It went well. Then I received another referral. Then another. The next thing I know I'm receiving call after call to host sales. I fell in love with hosting estate sales. I then made the decision to close my store, because I felt it was a conflict of interest when hosting sales. And I haven't looked back since.
My job, as the 'organizational leader' of your estate, is to ensure that Castaways sells as much as possible for you. When you walk into an estate sale we are hosting on the second or third day you will see a very noticable difference in the amount of inventory left. After visiting and shopping other estate sales, I told myself I would never have a sale that looked like I sold nothing on the last day (and this was before I even had an estate sale company!) So, from the very beginning, I have done my best to make sure we sell as much as we absolutely can, Sure, there are off weekends when people are holding tight to their hard earned money. Maybe there are 15 garage sales on the same day as your sale. Perhaps the estate just doesn't have a large selection of quality merchandise. All of these can affect the total outcome of your sale. However, we will adjust, and we will give you 110% by doing our absolute best to get it sold.

WHAT AREAS DOES CASTAWAYS SERVE?
Castaways serves Lampasas County, Coryell County, Burnet County, and Bell County. This includes the cities of Copperas Cove, Kempner, Lampasas, Burnet, Gatesville, Kingsland, Buchanan Dam, Adamsville, Harker Heights, Killeen, and all areas in between.
WHY SHOULD WE HAVE AN ESTATE SALE?
An estate sale is a fairly quick liquidation of assets, in most cases, allowing clients to get the house cleared and on the market.
Estate sale companies have a better understanding of what sells and what doesn't, and they price accordingly.
One of the key ingredients to having a successful sale, it knowing where and how to advertise. Estate sale companies utilize all advertising methods and have a large following, thus attracting more customers to your sale.

We are on our feet moving the entire sale. Merchandise is constantly being shuffled to ensure all items are in a line of sight, and not left on the floor or under a table.
All items at our sales are priced. Customers do not have to chase us down to inquire about pricing.
We do help our customers load their purchases. Sometimes it's the difference in making a sale or not. Our customers love this about us, and it is just good business.
We always ensure there is a restroom available for people shopping the sale. Comfortable customers stay and shop longer. It is another thing our customers appreciate about our sales.
We accept debit/credit at our sales. In a world of plastic, can you imagine if we didn't?
Customers using our Square terminal for purchases on a card are prompted to leave feedback for us that is not available to the public. What do they say? "Always friendly. Well organized. Awesome customer service. Prices are always fair."
The absolute best way to find the company that is right for you and your sale is to attend other estate sales on the first and last day of the sale. Visit with the team and owner. Get a sense of how they conduct their sales, then hire the company that meets YOUR needs. We all operate differently, and at the end of the day, it is about finding the team you believe can deliver the results you are looking for.
HIRING AN ESTATE LIQUIDATOR
We encourage all of our potential clients to visit with several estate sale companies before hiring anyone. Hire a team who can meet your needs and who you feel comfortable with. Selling an estate, especially your estate, is a big deal. With only a 2 or 3 day selling window, you are depending on the company you hire to liquidate as much as they can. Ask questions. Get answers.
